We are delighted to share that Rugby School Japan hosted a lecture by the distinguished Professor Dr. Maki Kawai, President of the National Institute of Natural Sciences, on "Single Molecular Spectroscopy - Surface Science" on Thursday, 20 June. Dr Kawai is credited with developing single-molecule spectroscopy, which allows us to study chemical reactions and interactions at a molecular level. The recipient of several prestigious awards, including recognition as a Person of Cultural Merit, Dr Kawai became the first woman to be appointed to the position of President of the Chemical Society of Japan in 2018. Dr Kawai’s lecture gave an insight into her research and a career in scientific research, while also making key links to the science content covered at GCSE and A-Level. A special thanks to Charani Dharmawardhane, our Head of Chemistry, for organizing this enriching event for our pupils. 🌟 Rugby School Japan prides itself on delivering a holistic British education that emphasizes 'The Whole Person, The Whole Point'. We are committed to providing our students with opportunities such as these, that inspire and prepare them for their future endeavours. #RugbySchoolJapan #DrKawai #ScienceLecture #MolecularSpectroscopy #STEMEducation #BritishEducation #GCSE #ALevel #FutureScientists #HolisticEducation
