I have been looking for a new opportunity for the past 6 months now- the job market is definitely tough right now and I know that I'm not the only one experiencing difficulty landing a role. So far, I hired a career coach, have applied to over 100 jobs, conducted over 60 live networking conversations, and participated in over 20 interviews these past few months. It has been exhausting and frustrating overall. I notice that a lot more hiring managers are being very selective on the technical background of the potential candidates. I have such an interesting technical background, and I'm proud of it! The rejections based on the fact that I don't have as much experience as they require in a limited/specific field has been frustrating. I have LOVED the opportunity to learn new technologies over the past 10 years of my career. I have been able to publish papers on my research in protein biochemistry, am listed on a patent and more publications for my work in industry drug development, have led multi-million dollar projects for amazing companies in Pharma, Biotech, AgTech, and AI, and have had the opportunity to travel the world to meet with my partners. If there are any companies or roles out there that value diversified technical experience as well as someone who has built a career on managing projects and relationships, please reach out!
