This year I didn’t attend the Milan Design Week and I missed out on the Norsk Hydro 100R stand and together with niceworkshop. and Knoll displayed material innovation and circular economy. In a world crying out for sustainability, it's disheartening to read the Dezeen editor’s review how he thinks the design industry prioritizing corporate strategies over the needs of everyday people and our planet. Especially the excessive use of virgin materials for short-lived, self-indulgent displays that actually reflects a disconnect between the industry's actions and the urgent changes needed in production and consumption. Because this is a time for designers, brands, and all of us to step it up. #sustainabilityisnotatrend #responsibledesign
Milan design week seemed to show that the industry has given up on reducing its planetary impact and creating products for regular people, writes Max Fraser. Dezeen

When you work with passion, the energy flows are so good ✨
As a new year begins, we wanted to reflect on 2023 and, of course, express our gratitude towards our partners. It was a year rich in new collaborations, new opportunities, with fashion brands seeking to redefine the industry, new places that are increasingly beautiful and tempting, culture, art, architecture, design, and new public contracts won alongside our cherished partners, NAKAMI and Chateau Off. Human adventures, giving meaning to what we do here on digital platforms, but above all, nurturing our relationships with our various clients who have trusted us over the past years. Lastly, stunning images, always, incredible stories, yet to be told, and expertise, always present. Thank you to our beloved clients of 2023. Stay tuned for some exciting new collaborations 🚀 We are confident that 2024 will be a year full of meaning. Join the conversation to redefine ‘well made’ for the 21st century Pearson Lloyd is curating a new exhibition at Yorkton Workshops during London Design Festival 2024, which will bring together a diverse array of people and practices to explore ‘well made’ through new forms of production and materiality that respond to the demands of a more ecological future. We are seeking contributions to this dialogue, highlighting the intersection of creativity, sustainability, and quality. The act of making has driven human and cultural evolution for millennia, elevating our existence and surroundings through ingenuity and innovation. However, in recent history, this creative process has been monetised, industrialised and globalised, resulting in rapid social, economic and environmental change. In our collective effort to respond to these challenges, there is a need to redefine our cultural understanding of what it means to be ‘well made.’ Please submit your contribution via this link before July 15th 2024. https://lnkd.in/dWxAEKEZ

W.A.N.D. is bringing to life the project "Seats of Europe" for the New European Bauhaus Festival event that will happen next week et the Cinquantenaire. For this project, we aim to prove our concept of up-cycled design and product development through using part-free, recovered materials and exploring cooperative and participative possibilities. For that we are looking for raw material, left over stock or default pieces, that could make our seats canvas. Indeed, our lounge chair will be based on a frame with textile or non-textile panel inside to settle. “Seats of Europe by W.A.N.D” is more than a project; it's a laboratory, a bold, shared experiment, a collaborative bet. We aim to create 27 unique loungers, representing each EU state by its seat canvas. We’re leveraging extensive networks, to source dedicated materials, reflecting the identity and heritage of each state for a common event as a manifest of the Europe unity. It’s the opportunity for each country and for the provider of the raw materials to be presented for visibility on a European scene. We will present them to you at the event 🤩 Come to see us there... #EUGreenDeal #EU2024BE #DesignForAll #EuropeForCulture
