Gonna flex the Game Designer mindset here. Honestly, I immediately thought of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and how in that game you could switch your boomerangs for different effects. I think having different boomerang types such as fire, ice, and explosive can be used to add a lot of depth to player combat and exploration. Combat: An enemy blocking your path? But its frozen? Just throw you flame 'rang and wrap it around it and melt the ice, just be ready for the battle that'll ensue after though. Exploration: Use explosive 'rangs on destructible objects, fire to melt ice/armor or to set things on fire to maybe also deal DoT, ice to freeze enemies or freeze certain objects or paths for traversal. Use the rope as a tight rope! Yes you can swing, and tie things up, but you can also tie the rope down and throw the boomerang to latch it onto something across the river, and walk across, or take that same interaction and apply to crossing an incredibly deep chasm. Don't worry, Its still one boomerang ;) . It just swaps between different variants depending on upgrades you get throughout the game. fire gem, gun power, snow ball as possible slot-ins for this unassuming (yet very dangerous) boomerang. kind of like Kingdom Hearts with its keychains

I recently received a take-home test from a hiring manager, which involved designing an app based on a Dribbble shot. The task was animation-heavy and had a tight 3-day deadline, starting mid-week. I submitted my progress before the deadline, but I was rejected. After receiving the rejection, I decided to complete the task as I would have if I had more time. I realized there was no way I could have met the deadline given my other commitments. I believe it likely took the original designer at least 48 hours to create the design, and a developer would reasonably need a week to build it from scratch without any design artifacts (images, icons, etc.). I was penalized for using the Flutter Animate package for 25% of the animations. So, I removed the package and rewrote all animations using only Flutterโs implicit and explicit animations. What you see below is accomplished entirely with Flutterโs native animation capabilities. I understand the challenges hiring managers face in finding the right candidate among hundreds of applicants. However, in the rush to move quickly, thereโs a risk of overlooking the potential and effort of candidates. A better approach would be to send take-home assignments to a manageable number of candidates, ensuring you can thoroughly review their work and provide feedback. If a candidate spends days on a take-home test, you should dedicate 10 to 15 minutes to discuss their work and provide constructive feedback. Additionally, take-home assignments should not be the first stage of the hiring process. They are time-consuming and should be reserved for the final few candidates. Asking 50 candidates to complete a 3-day take-home test equates to 150 days of collective effort. Please have some humanity in your hiring process. The Dribble shot: https://lnkd.in/duqqfsWh
