Currently on the second week of development for the specialism module at Escape Studios, thought I’d share my progress so far. This is a lightning/electrical shockwave effect which is inspired by Miles’ lightning ground strike in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 by Insomniac Games. Game studios will know that the process of creating a game comes with many challenges. When we asked MD Sam Tamiz about the biggest challenge he faced in creating Luna Blast, he said this. In "Rise of the Village Hero," most interactions offer roleplay options to the player, between being either an chaotic evil or pure good, due to #solodev and time constraints. I would love to create branching dialogues where each decision takes its own turn and impacts the world, but this would push the 1.0 timeline beyond my current limits. With this being my first commercial release, my goal is to complete it, and then perhaps focus on a second part that pushes the boundaries of the first game and improves upon it. The "Goblin Conglomerate" quest is the first with different outcomes based on player decisions. Players can choose to either play a diplomatic hero or a more aggressive one, with the faction reacting based on the player’s past actions. It's the first of its kind in my game, and I hope to add more in the future to show how players' actions can influence the world.
