I was listening the Fast Talk Laboratories https://lnkd.in/gNVvzXpe podcast on my walk to work this AM. The guest was Dr. Scott Frey. He said, and I paraphrase here, Context = past experience + perception of current reality + expectation of future reality. I realized that this is EXACTLY why story and context is so frkkg critical to #B2BMarketing . To win in B2B marketing our GTM narrative must: 1) Connect with they buyers past experiences 2) Change their perception of the current reality and 3) Paint a transformed future only we can deliver. In other words, the winner is the one who controls the CONTEXT of the conversation, and story is the way to do that! I love when the context of one discussion translates into insight on another topic!!!

Should sell thru be part of agent compensation? 💡 After listening to Escape Collective podcasts about the cycling industry and the suggestion from a retailer that Sales Agents should be compensated on a completed sale to the end user instead of to the shop it got me thinking. There’s probably something here. While I do think agents should be focused on getting their products on shelves for the season and optimizing market share, an element of sell thru warrants more attention. What if sales agents had an aspect of a seasonal bonus tied to sell thru % or a turn goal? Not only would this incentivize more strategic selling, it would also build up retailer strength with that brand and set them up for optimal buying volume for the coming season. Win-win? Thoughts?
