Changing your mindset... When I made the change from agency recruiting to supporting an internal corporate program, I went from "how do I make as much money" to "how do I save as much money for the company". That first role I supported was for a Business Analyst contractor in Saint Louis, MO. I quickly realized the business wasn't intentionally overspending for the previous person in the role, they just didn't have any education or insight on what the market was for BA's in Saint Louis, MO. They simply relied on what the vendor(s) were telling them. The manager was highly skeptical that I could find the right person for them at the rate I was proposing. In short, I had the right person onboarded for them in 3 weeks and helped their budget avoid overspending by $85k! This one interaction created a champion for the program and helped to keep pushing adoption forward! Permanent Business Analyst Insight - Insurance Market 📈 ✔ Business Analyst positions have made up circa 40% my placements this year ✔Candidates have averaged salary uplifts of circa 14%. ✔ Base salaries have predominately ranged from £62K (junior) to £85K (senior) but some niche positions have paid up to £90k ✔ The majority of Lloyd's / London Market clients still require candidates with industry experience ✔ Those businesses with budget restrictions are having to either look outside of the Lloyd's / London Market, or recruit less experienced candidates with a focus on training and development. ✔ InsureTech salaries have generally been lower, but many offer greater flexible/remote working, and often recruit from wider industries to secure candidates. ✔ Businesses that offer enhanced remote working (London circa once a month) have secured candidates at lower salaries (due to lower travel costs).
