MSc, Experienced Engineer/Flight Commander with demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to exert influence at multiple organisational levels. Skilled in Leadership, Communication and Engineering.
A synergistic union Recently Norwegian acquired the regional airline Wideroe which operates over 40 destinations, mainly domestic Norway. I have the most profound respect for the front line personnel at Wideroe; As the polar lows drifts in, one after the other, the staff at Wideroe have learned to act in the harshest of environments as the triad of cold, darkness and snow has been their constant companions when they have solved their tasks. The same goes for my highly trained and professional colleagues at Norwegian. Without a doubt, both corps are among the foremost winter-operational workforces in the world. A merger between two companies that thrive independently is highly advantageous. Each entity brings its unique strengths and capabilities to the table and combines them, creating a powerful synergy poised for sustainable growth and competitive advantage in the market. And as you all know, flying is a teamwork. Norwegian Widerøe Article in Norwegian

An important step en-route to full membership!
Very happy to welcome Jon Gunnar Jonsson, Director General of the Icelandic Transport Authority, at our HQ as we take one step closer to integrating Iceland into the EUROCONTROL aviation family. ✈ Thanks to the Special Agreement signed today between EUROCONTROL and the Icelandic Transport Authority, our two organisations will partner to support Iceland in the run-up to them joining us as our 42nd Member State in January 2025. We are also happy to be welcoming Gudmundur Sigurdsson, the new Iceland State Liaison Officer, who is based at EUROCONTROL and will be helping to prepare for the accession. Looking forward to continuing building this partnership and welcoming Iceland as our 42nd Member State next year! 🤝

RCO (Reduced Crew Operations)… ⛔⛔⛔ eMCO (enhanced minimum crew operations)…⛔⛔⛔ ANPAC - Italy Alpa campaign is on the way… Here you go the leaflet on the upcoming ANPAC - Italy Alpa eMCO campaign taking place in 7 Italian airports next week (12nd, 13rd, 14th December in #Fiumicino, #Ciampino, #Linate, #Malpensa, #Bergamo, #Bologna, #Venezia). The campaign, underway globally in coordination with IFALPA, European Pilots and Air Line Pilots Association, aims to raise awareness among Colleagues and Passengers of the risks deriving from the reduction in the number of pilots at the controls of airliners and cargo aircraft. Your ANPAC - Italy Alpa representatives will be present. Feel free to share the leaflet and don’t forget to invite your colleagues, including cabin attendants, to participate (if free of duty or before and after their flight duties) in order to stand together on this important topic which concerns flight crews more closely than one might think. #safetystartswith2 #RCO #flightsafety #safety #aviation #pilots #airlines #regulation #pilots

At Airmacs, we pride ourselves on our unique approach to cargo charter services, embodying our "dare to be different" ethos every step of the way. To highlight this, we’ve chosen the iconic song "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses to represent the formidable Antonov An-12. Why? Well, "Welcome to the Jungle" It's more than just a song; it’s an anthem of adventure, resilience, and facing challenges head-on – all qualities that define both the Antonov An-12 and Airmacs Aviation. And if we had to choose a great servant to fly into a jungle with cargo, the Antonov An-12 would be it, because of the following: Versatility: An-12 is versatile, adept at handling various cargo types and navigating complex terrains. Durability: Built to endure, much like the timeless appeal of a rock anthem. Capacity: Its impressive cargo capacity ensures that we can meet your needs, no matter how big or small the load. Thrill of the Adventure | Resilience and Strength | Embracing the Unconventional... "Where do we go now?"..... Safety ALWAYS First
In 2023, more than 12,500,000 commercial flights were registered in Pan America, and we did not have any fatalities. Such an important achievement in an industry as complex as aviation does not come by chance, nor is it the result of luck. Rather, it is the product of teamwork, collaboration, data sharing, and informed decision making. At RASG-PA we are proud to dedicate our work to aviation safety, and to bring together key stakeholders to contribute and help improve the safety of the skies in our region and the world.

When I joined RASG-PA in 2010, the region was experiencing an average of 6 to 10 fatal accidents a year, that added up to hundreds of fatalities every year. This was already an important reduction from previous decades, and a really high standard compared to other industries, but we knew we could do better, and that it was not enough. With RASG-PA (States, Airlines, Manufacturers, Professional Organizations, Airports, and partners) we set a clear objective of reducing the risk of a fatality by 50% from 2010 to 2020. To accomplish this we created a clear implementation roadmap to improve our safety data collection (protect our safety information sources, change the safety culture, enable safety data sharing, etc) and to use that information to identify risks, develop safety enhancements and implement and monitor their effectiveness. This simple but effective plan, where we focused our resources on the top contributors to our accidents, WORKED! by the end of the decade we had actually achieved an 87.5% reduction! way over the 50% we hoped to achieve. We actually had the first 0 fatalities in the LATAM-CAR region in 2014, and repeated it on 2017 and 2019. And now this became then new standard: 0 fatalities Congratulations to all the amazing people who work in the aviation industry in the Pan-American region that make this possible. Keep it up, and remember that the risks we identified and worked on will always be there! And they will come back if we forget why those safety improvements where put in place, why we do what we do, the way we do it! All the training, procedures, policies, resources and programs that are there keep us safe, be aware of cost cutting practices and "new ways" of doing things that diminish your safety standards.
