AMAZON , Don’t destroy AMAZON Our forests are disappearing at an alarming rate. Over the past few decades, we've witnessed the devastating impact of deforestation, with millions of acres of lush, vibrant ecosystems being cleared for various purposes. This alarming trend not only destroys the natural habitats of countless species but also contributes to climate change, soil erosion, and the disruption of vital water cycles. It's time we take action to protect and restore our precious forests and oceans and finally Earth before it's too late. NATO or other Organizations are also responsible for protecting our forests and oceans and all humanity with peace . They should respect to all thoughts without considering racism and finally developing to keep our planet Earth . We have no other place to live as alternative except Earth . Let’s young leaders control future of our planet. NATO and Organization are responsible to bring peace not to manufacturing war guns and tools . We are all in one ship . Please don’t make hole our ship .

Forests play a vital role in reducing disaster risks – for example: mitigating flood risks, preventing landslides, reducing the impact of storms and wind erosion, and enhancing water catchments – but they are at risk from the climate crisis and related hazards like wildfires, drought, extreme heat, and pests and diseases. We need innovative solutions to protect our forests, so that our forests can protect us. Below is my 'changes I want to see in forestry' wishlist, building upon a post from Wood for the Trees. What would be on your list? - a legally binding national target for a certain minimum % of woodland to be managed sustainably to the UKFS by 2050; - ring-fenced funding for the continuation of the Forestry And Arboriculture Training Fund and more forestry apprenticeships - to help more new entrants get into forestry; - ring-fenced funding for the continuation of the Woods Into Management Forestry Innovation Fund – to continue driving innovation in forestry; - greater choice and flexibility within woodland grant components of the Countryside Stewardship – to help landowners overcome the unique barriers specific to them, which prevent viable ownership and sustainable management of woodland;   - creation of a citizens assembly for forestry and a program of public engagement about the value and importance of managing woodland - the public need to be brought along with the changes that are happening and the changes we want to see happen; - development projects of a certain type and size (whether public or private) to have a legally binding target to use a certain minimum % of certified home grown timber; - overhaul of relevant development planning legislation, production of best practice and training that supports greater positive decision making on planning applications in favour of forestry.  At present there is a big disconnect between what environmental, woodland, and tree policies want to happen and what can actually be achieved within the confines of what the development planning system judges to be ‘forestry’ by woodland owners

  Climate change is increasing the susceptibility of the world's forests to stressors such as wildfires and pests, according to a new FAO flagship publication that emphasizes the role of innovation in achieving a sustainable future for the forestry sector. The report, titled “The State of the World’s Forests 2024: Forest-sector innovations towards a more sustainable future,” says there’s evidence to suggest that #ClimateChange is making forests more vulnerable to stressors such as wildfires and pests. Wildfire intensity and frequency are increasing, including in areas not previously affected, with fires in 2023 releasing an estimated 6,687 megatonnes of carbon dioxide globally. Boreal fire was previously responsible for about 10% of global carbon dioxide emissions. In 2021, such fires reached a new high, mainly driven by extended drought causing an increase in fire severity and fuel consumption, and accounted for nearly one-quarter of total wildfire emissions.
