Have you ever wondered why some people enjoy their work, and others don't? People who enjoy their work often credit the company's leadership for creating a great place to work. As leaders, we must care and value our people, but to effectively demonstrate genuine care for your team, it's important to show interest and support in both their professional and personal lives. Engage in conversations to understand their career aspirations, provide the necessary resources, and offer mentorship when needed. Additionally, create an inclusive and supportive environment where team members feel valued, respected, and safe to express their thoughts and feelings. Taking the time to acknowledge personal milestones, such as birthdays or work anniversaries, and offering flexibility during challenging times demonstrates a deep level of care. By investing in your team's professional and personal well-being, you can cultivate a culture of loyalty and dedication where employees are willing to go above and beyond to contribute to the organization's success.

What does it take to feel engaged and satisfied at work? Is it more money, higher status, perks like ping pong tables and cold brew on tap? None of the above. People need: ✔ Autonomy to control their work ✔ Recognition for their contributions ✔ To be of service to those around them ✔ To demonstrate mastery in their chosen craft ✔ To learn new skills to thrive and open additional doors ✔ To find purpose in a shared mission Different individuals want different mixes of the above. It’s up to you to know which of your team members are most motivated by the right cocktail of the activities above. If you simply try to reward with merit increases, but you’re missing the right ingredients, your team is going to leave. Simple as that.

As the old saying goes, "All good things must come to an end." In the context of organizations, this often means bidding farewell to valued team members who have decided to move on to new opportunities. While farewells can be bittersweet, it's essential to recognize the significance of acknowledging individuals when they are leaving an organization. First and foremost, recognizing departing colleagues is a matter of basic human decency and respect. Recognizing departing colleagues helps to maintain positive relationships both internally and externally. When employees leave feeling appreciated and respected, they are more likely to speak positively about their experiences with the organization. Recognizing departing colleagues can have a positive impact on the morale and motivation of the remaining team members. Farewells can be emotional especially if the departing individual played a significant role in the team or held a leadership position. Lastly, recognizing departing colleagues provides an opportunity for closure and reflection, both for the individual leaving and for their colleagues who remain. So the next time a colleague announces their departure, take the time to acknowledge their contributions, celebrate their achievements, and wish them well on their journey. After all, it's not just about saying goodbye—it's about saying thank you. #EmployeeAppreciation #Farewell #CompanyCulture #Gratitude

You know what time it is... that time of week where I ask you another deep question 🤗 I haven't shared this here yet, but I played soccer from the time I was 5, through college, and then semi-professionally in San Diego. I am a very team-oriented person. I asked my partner, Dani, this question as I prepare for a talk I am giving at a company town hall next week: "What do you think makes a great team?" Her answer: accountability & ownership. As I reflected on her insight, it occurred to me that accountability and ownership are like a perfectly choreographed dance. Accountability sets the stage, inviting individuals to hold themselves and each other to high standards. It's the commitment to excellence. Ownership, on the other hand, is the dancers embracing the rhythm, each taking responsibility for their unique contribution to the collective performance. In a profound way, it's the delicate balance between these two that creates the magic of a great team. Accountability provides the structure, and ownership infuses the spirit. They go hand in hand, propelling the team towards shared goals. Think about your own experiences in the workplace. When have you witnessed this dance of accountability and ownership creating something truly extraordinary within a team? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! 🌟 #futureleaders #futureofhr #futureofwork #workplacewellness #hrprofessionals #deepconnections #accountability #ownership #genz #multigenerationalworkforce #hrleader #chiefofpeople #peopleandculture #culturetransformation

Guidance is key 🔑
Scaling my online sales education business from $1-$5M in revenue | 2x Founder | chrisritson.xyz & thesdrleader.com
Took me 3 years to realise I shouldn't have been ''commanding'' my team. Instead, I should have been serving them. To get the best from people, you gotta give them your best first: Want the best performance? ↳ Give them the best training and coaching. Want the best improvements? ↳ Take time to provide the best feedback. Want the most productive team? ↳ Give them the best vacation policy so they can rest. Want to win every single week and smash goals? ↳ Give them a chance to celebrate together and enjoy the winning feeling. Being the best starts by treating everyone else as if they are the best. ♻️ Repost if you enjoyed this.

🌟 Celebrating Success: The Power of Performance Management 🌟 We are thrilled to announce the promotions of several outstanding team members who have consistently demonstrated excellence, dedication, and growth. This milestone is not just a testament to their hard work but also highlights the importance of effective performance management in our organisation. Performance management is more than just a series of evaluations—it's a dynamic process that continuously aligns individual goals with the company's mission and fosters a culture of growth and achievement. This goes hand in hand with the importance of setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and recognising accomplishments, which empowers team members to reach new heights. Here’s why performance management matters: Clarity and Direction: Clear goals and regular check-ins ensure everyone knows what is expected and how their work contributes to the bigger picture. Motivation and Engagement: Recognising achievements and providing constructive feedback keeps our team motivated and engaged. Personal and Professional Growth: Continuous development opportunities help our team members enhance their skills and advance in their careers. Building a Stronger Team: Open communication and support create a collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. These promotions are a shining example of what can be achieved when we invest in our people. Performance management, while essential for organisational success, also comes with its challenges. Ensuring consistent and unbiased evaluations, providing timely and constructive feedback, and aligning individual goals with broader company objectives can be complex and time-consuming. Additionally, fostering open communication and maintaining motivation among team members requires continuous effort and commitment. This is why we place such importance on continuously enhancing our performance management processes and actively seeking feedback from our team members on the process itself too. By regularly refining our approach and incorporating insights from those directly involved, we can address challenges more effectively, ensure fairness, and create a system that truly supports personal and professional growth. Our commitment to improvement and openness to feedback not only strengthen our performance management but also empower our team to contribute to a culture of excellence. Congratulations to all the promotees! Their hard work and commitment, along with that of their colleagues, is truly inspiring. Let's continue to strive for excellence together, and remember, our greatest asset is our people. #PerformanceManagement #TeamSuccess #CareerGrowth #Leadership #PromotionCelebration
