I’m a huge fan of single-day household projects. Better light switches, a new faucet, etc. Small things that make our home nicer or easier. A few years ago I wrote about using HomeKit + Homebridge to automate turning our HVAC off and back on so we could hear the tv easier. Since then I've set up sensors to avoid having to walk down two flights of stairs before bed, fixed a design problem with our closet, added a virtual switch to turn on my desktop computer and a handful of smaller projects. I really enjoy small, intentional automation. I'm not looking for a home with the lights that turn on or off as a walk around, but a home that tells me that the doors are closed and locked is fantastic. I've written more about it here: https://lnkd.in/gNUnp-GD #automation #homekit #practicalengineering

I've spent 440 hours off and on over the last 4 years building a time tracking app for my own personal use. This project grew out of a review of the http://feltron.com annual reports and an analysis I did on my own time usage back in 2017. This project has been de-scoped and refocused and used as a test bed for a number of other projects over the years, but I'm thrilled to be able to finally call it feature complete. It's not where I thought I'd land, but it's fantastic for my own use cases. More info: https://lnkd.in/dv4JXmDu

Congrats to the SkinIO team! This is a great opportunity, and I'm so excited to see who you're able to bring this technology to.
We are excited to announce that SkinIO has joined the iLab as the newest resident in our 2022 program! SkinIO, a virtual skin cancer screening platform, will work with the iLab and our partners to provide employees and members access to both onsite and at-home teledermatology screening options. “Joining the Smart Health Innovation Lab provides an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate our value to the healthcare industry and get our potentially life-saving technology into more hands, which is at the core of our mission,” said Kyoko Crawford, Chief Executive Officer of SkinIO. Welcome to the iLab, SkinIO! https://bit.ly/3G0Rwkn
