🌈✨ Developmental Play Series: 3-6 Months ✨👶 As your little one continues to blossom, so do their abilities! 🌟 From 3 to 6 months, it's an exciting time for motor skill development. Engaging in play that nurtures their newfound skills can be both fun and beneficial. Here are some activities and toys to spark joy and growth: Tummy Time Fun: Lay a soft blanket on the floor, and encourage tummy time. Place colourful, textured toys just out of reach to motivate those mini push-ups and strengthen those adorable little muscles. Hang and Reach: Suspend a few lightweight toys or rattles from a play gym above their play area. This encourages reaching and swatting, fostering hand-eye coordination. Soft Sensory Toys: Introduce soft toys with various textures. This stimulates their sense of touch and promotes the exploration of different sensations. Mirror Magic: Babies love looking at faces, especially their own! Use an unbreakable baby-safe mirror during playtime to captivate their attention and encourage visual tracking. Gentle Rolling: Place a soft, lightweight ball beside them during play. The gentle touch and exploration of the ball can enhance their tactile senses and introduce the concept of cause and effect. I like sensory balloons because they are DIY sensory toys you can easily make. They are versatile and you can use them in cross-curricular activities. Sensory balloons offer numerous benefits for children's development and play. Here are some benefits 1. Tactile exploration: Sensory balloons provide a tactile experience and allow children to explore different textures. Like in the video above 😀. 2. Fine motor skills: Squeezing, and manipulating sensory balloons helps develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. 3. Creativity and imagination: Sensory balloons can be used as puppets to encourage creative play and storytelling. 4. Emotional intelligence: Sensory balloons can be used to help teach emotions and emotional regulation, as well as develop self-awareness and self-expression. 5. Stress relief: Sensory balloons can help children relax by introducing a calming effect as they manipulate them thereby helping to reduce stress.
