What a great way to spend the day! I had such a great time talking to a room full of farmers on AI, how AI is cropping up in agriculture today and tomorrow, and the productivity and efficiency increases right around the corner that will be at their fingertips in no time. Really fortunate to share a stage with Margy Eckelkamp, Connie Bowen, Jake Joraanstad and Steve Cubbage. Thanks for having Mineral.ai and me at #TPS2024, Farm Journal!

Can't wait to represent Mineral.ai next week at Top Producer Summit in Kansas City. We will talk about the potential power of AI in agriculture, what the future of an AI-integrated farm could look like, and practically speaking, how AI can help sense of a world full of data.

CES 2024! I’m excited to be heading to Las Vegas next week for this year’s CES. If you will be too, let's catch up. Friends, former colleagues, friends of friends, colleagues of former colleagues, new friends. I'll be there with Erica Bliss, Sara (Lasseter) Ferrario and Will. Will Conrad from Mineral.ai will be on a panel talking about the future of agriculture, opportunities for AI to help the industry take the next giant leap forward, and how - together - we can make meaningful progress towards a more sustainable future. The panel will hosted by The Spoon on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. 

As we enter the holiday season and give thanks to what we’re grateful for, at the top of my list is the team at Mineral.ai that I get to work with every day. This group is passionate about agriculture and our food system. They are determined to make an impact, and show up to work each day to do so. They bring curiosity to the table, and the deep seeded belief that we all can do and be better. This group doesn’t rest on the acceptance that how things have always been is how things should or need to be in the future. They are smart and kind. And I couldn’t be more proud to be in the trenches with this group every day. I’m also grateful for the people I’ve grown with, those who have helped me grow, and those that I’ve been fortunate to help grow. Being a part of agriculture is a privilege and something that I feel so grateful to be a part of. I would be remiss to not acknowledge my gratitude for farmers and the industry as a whole, who continuously feed and fuel the world. Typically, I don’t make it a practice to share personal posts on LinkedIn. But today is a little different. My mom, Ann Hustad, after more than 43 years at Morgan Stanley, has decided it was her turn to turn over her laptop, give her badge back, share her news about her next chapter with her clients, and likely give a little rousting to those closest to her reminding them of some inequity that didn’t sit right with her - that they needed to make right, even after her time at MS was over. And I share this on LinkedIn because I am who I am today, professionally and personally, because I watched her lead by example my entire life. As long as I’ve known my mom, she has been passionate, fierce and principled. Her principles are what really mattered. And they came (and still come) from deep inside. She was, and will forever be, a force to reckon with. She is a pioneer and has grit that doesn’t stop. She has incredible grace and never-ending loyalty that others never forget. And she's paved many paths that very few women had taken before her. I didn’t realize it until I became a parent just how hard (and important, and rewarding) being a working mom is. And she did it for all these years, making it seem so easy. And as of today, she’s retired. It’s surreal for me, and I can only imagine the feelings and emotions she is filled with as she closes this chapter and opens the next. What I do know is that she is already showing her grandchildren these same qualities that made her so successful to date - as she is fiercely loving, unconditionally present (even from afar), and constantly teaching them lessons in independence, fighting for equality and justice, and trailblazing on an unbeaten path. She lived, shaped and internalized what hard work looks like. Which I’m forever indebted to, and will do my best to raise my bar to where she left hers. And most importantly, I cannot wait to see her write this next chapter.

We have some amazing new roles open across the X marketing and communications team. Since joining X, I've had the opportunity to learn from and work side-by-side with Jodi Olson, and anyone who would get to work with her is so lucky. X is a special place with incredible talent, huge ambition and it really is the chance to do some lasting, impactful work. Come join X! And let me know if your interested in learning more.

I joined X, the moonshot factory less than one year ago, and over the course of the last year, I have had the incredible honor to help build the Mineral.ai brand. It’s been a whirlwind of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work side-by-side with some of the the most talented people I've met, growth, and the rare chance to bring an Alphabet brand to life. And, as of 1.1.23, after five years of incubating our tech at X, Mineral has now graduated and is Alphabet's newest company. I am so proud of the journey the team has taken, and cannot wait for the future.  This is just the beginning as we uncover the intelligence of plantkind. The best is yet to come.
