***Happy Monday everyone*** This week,airfreight rate from mainland China's major airports (PEK/TAO/HGH/NGB/PVG/SZX/CAN/XMN/) to Europe's main airport continue to run at a high level. Whether it is possible for the current price from Shanghai Airport to major European airports to be relatively cheaper than in June this year? I think that the chances were slim. the main reasons are as follows 1# November/December every year is the traditional peak period for air freight demand. The limited capacity determines that there is no room for air freight price reduction. Although the current air freight demand is not as strong as in previous years, it is still a peak transportation period. If there is a need for air transportation, it is recommended to finalize the plan as soon as possible and then ship it as early as possible.. 2# Generally speaking, airlines achieve full-year revenue through the peak transportation period in the second half of each year. With limited capacity, airlines do not need to lower prices to ensure that planes are fully loaded. In this difficult situation, stable space and earlier flights mean everything. This suggests a general trend of rising e-commerce activity, which is likely to continue. E-commerce typically relies on air cargo for fast and efficient delivery, so this growth would translate to stable or even increasing demand for air cargo services. 2. **Post-Chinese New Year restocking:** The report highlights a surge in cargo demand after factories reopened following the Chinese New Year. This indicates that businesses are restocking inventory, which could lead to sustained demand for long-haul air cargo routes, especially if these factories are fulfilling international orders.

The German airport in Frankfurt is the largest in Europe in terms of freight volume! ✈ This was recently revealed by data from ACI Europe and DVZ, which indicated that 1,828 thousand tonnes of freight were handled in Frankfurt in 2023. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is close behind with 1,815 thousand tonnes of freight volume. The top 3 is completed by Istanbul Airport, which recorded a cargo volume of 1,516 thousand tonnes in 2023. Air freight is often used for time-critical goods such as flowers and perishable foodstuffs or valuable goods such as jewellery. The goods can be transported from A to B extremely quickly and safely. There are also many customised solutions and services in air freight, such as charter solutions or onboard couriers.
