Last last year, got an African client Discussed with them over the project for 4 long months Sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly But the lead was going in the closure direction Then, they told me that they will release a press notification in a local newspaper And we had to bid in the same With quotation My then Management said I got fooled out of my prospect What happened? We never participated in that bid And we never got that project But that prospect told me multiple times that we will win the project only but they need to follow the guidelines Impact: I had to leave that job in frustration 😔 #salesjob #hecticmanagement #micronichemanagement

3 ways Dawn Strange and I focus on forging excellent client relationships: While there’s always room for improvement, I’ve noticed how these 3 things develop stronger bonds with our clients - and allow us to do our best work, too! 1️⃣ We like to stay in touch. ↳ Although we are not always involved in day to day delivery, we try really hard to touch base throughout the year. It’s a great opportunity to understand more about business objectives, current challenges and future plans without getting bogged down with the daily stuff. 2️⃣ We aim to actively meet with them. ↳ This is admittedly fully dependent on time and logistics. Meeting in-person helps us better understand our international clients (we recently came back from doing this in Cape Town). 3️⃣ We build “give-get” relationships. ↳ The best partnerships are beneficial to all involved. We want our clients to be happy and we want our work to be excellent. The two go hand-in-hand. None of these 3 things are rocket science, but all of them are important.
