I am presenting with Dr. Shannon Calderone (WSU) on Wednesday at a Pre-Conference Workshop (#11). Come and learning with me. Unearthing the truth about student disengagement from learning & school is one of the most intractable problems of practice researchers and educators face. In the absence of adequate interventions, front-line teachers and administrators battle learner disengagement during any given school day. This workshop focuses on identifying diverse forms of student disengagement both within and outside the classroom. Participants will have an opportunity to assess disengagement patterns & trends in their school/district and learn about different tools and strategies designed to support re-engagement.

Grateful to have been part of last year's Future Fwd conference. As I mentioned, it's crucial to embrace different routes to success and equip young people with the tools they need. Let's continue to challenge the notion of 'traditional' and foster environments where every young person feels empowered to explore and thrive. 🌟 #FutureFwd #YouthEmpowerment #EducationForAll"
Often, pupils may feel that they have to go down the 'traditional' route in order to achieve perceived success once they leave school. However, there are an increasing number of available routes that students can go down, and it is up to us as educationalists to ensure that we give each and every young person the tools to succeed, no matter which route they choose. This message was echoed by Bajabulile Darryl Bhebhe from Youth 2 Adulthood at last year's conference: 🚪 Be open to different avenues to give yourself the opportunity to expand and grow. 💪 Listen to his thoughts below 👇 Sign up for this year’s conference and open a new door! ⏩ https://lnkd.in/eniKkxDM

Thanks for the great discussion this morning on how higher ed institutions can improve reenrollment and degree attainment for those with some college but no credential. Explore the insights from our report: https://lnkd.in/gR3_g3qB
Had a great time this morning discussing the results of our research study on adult learners who left (and some who returned) to Shasta College and College of Continuing Education (CCE) at Sacramento State with Project Attain and California Competes. We were hosted by Dakota Pawlicki, Director of CivicLab. Always happy to talk with folks who are trying to make higher education more accessible and doable for adult learners!
