Strategic Shift to Safety and Efficiency! I often encounter queries about the value and rationale behind transitioning from local control to remote operations of Oil&Gas fields. The answer, while multifaceted, prominently features #safety as a key value. Consider the inherent risks in our industry, especially in high-stakes environments like sour gas plants and offshore operations. Sour gas plants, for instance, deal with hydrogen sulfide, a highly toxic and corrosive gas. The hazards associated with its handling are immense, posing significant health risks to on-site personnel. Similarly, offshore platforms, while being marvels of engineering, are isolated and exposed to harsh environmental conditions. The occupational hazards here include severe weather, logistical challenges, and limited access to emergency services. By shifting to #remote #operations, we significantly mitigate these risks. Remote monitoring and control allow for a safer work environment by reducing the number of personnel needed in these high-risk areas. In addition, it facilitates rapid response strategies in case of emergencies, as remote teams can operate and coordinate interventions without the delay of traveling to the site. The second question is about feasibility, yes absolutely, it is achievable. At Kent, Our successful implementation has proven full asset control from owner operator office, and we're now scaling this solution to enable operations of assets portfolio remotely for our clients. #digitalengineering #RemoteOperation #Safety #energy #Kent

Pipeline Integrity | Fitness For Service (FFS) | Corrosion Growth Assessment | Run Comparison | Internal/ External Corrosion Assessment | ECDA | Cathodic Protection | CP Design | Risk Assessment | AC Mitigation
🌟 The Truth Behind the Boom of Pipeline Integrity Specialists 🌟 In recent years, we've seen a significant increase in the number of engineers and companies calling themselves “pipeline integrity specialists.” But what’s behind this trend? 🔍 The oil and gas industry, as well as the petrochemical sector, are under constant pressure to maintain the safety and efficiency of their infrastructures. Increasingly stringent regulations and the need to minimize risks have boosted the demand for pipeline integrity services. 🎓 Nowadays, the information and tools needed for integrity analysis are more accessible than ever. This allows more professionals and companies to offer these services. However, access does not equate to experience. ⚠️ Not all professionals have the same level of expertise. The real difference lies in the ability to interpret data, responsiveness, and a proven track record of success. Pipeline integrity is not just about having the right technology, but knowing how to use it effectively and make informed decisions. 💡 It’s crucial for industry companies to carefully select their pipeline integrity partners. Beyond credentials and certifications, the real difference lies in the ability to interpret data, responsiveness, and a proven track record of success. I’ve dedicated my career to pipeline integrity engineering and have seen firsthand the difference that expert, well-founded evaluations can make. In a field where mistakes can be costly and dangerous, experience and deep knowledge are indispensable. 📈 What do you think about the rise of pipeline integrity specialists? Share your thoughts below. I’d like to hear your perspective! #PipelineIntegrity #Engineering #CathodicProtection #Corrosion #DataAnalysis

Why gas pipeline tapping is less favored for a meter calibration center despite its high operational range: 1. Operational Stability: - Pressure Fluctuations: Drawing gas from the pipeline can cause pressure fluctuations that affect the stability and efficiency of the pipeline’s operation. - Pressure Management: The owner must manage these fluctuations to ensure consistent supply to all users connected to the pipeline. 2. Capacity and Throughput: - Flow Capacity: Increased demand from additional taps can reduce the available capacity for other users, potentially affecting their operations. - Pressure Drops: Significant pressure drops can reduce the overall throughput of the pipeline, impacting the delivery rate to downstream users. 3. Wear and Tear: - Increased Stress: Pressure variations can lead to increased mechanical stress on the pipeline and associated infrastructure, accelerating wear and tear. - Maintenance Requirements: More frequent maintenance and inspections might necessary to ensure the integrity of the pipeline. 4. Regulatory Compliance: - Safety Standards: The pipeline owner must ensure that pressure levels remain within safe operating limits to comply with regulatory standards and avoid safety hazards. - Reporting and Documentation: Additional monitoring and reporting may be required to document pressure changes and ensure compliance with industry regulations. 5. Commercial Agreements: - Contractual Obligations: The pipeline owner might need to renegotiate contracts to account for changes in pressure and flow rates, affecting terms of service and pricing. - Compensation and Penalties: In some cases, there might be compensation or penalty clauses for pressure drops affecting other users, leading to financial implications. Mitigation Strategies: 1. Pressure Control Systems: - Pressure Regulators: Install and maintain pressure regulators to manage and stabilize pressure levels within the pipeline. - Surge Protection: Implement surge protection devices to mitigate the impact of sudden pressure changes. 2. Capacity Planning: - Demand Forecasting: Conduct thorough demand forecasting to anticipate the impact of additional taps and adjust capacity accordingly. - Pipeline Upgrades: Consider upgrading pipeline infrastructure to handle increased demand and minimize pressure drops. 3. Monitoring and Maintenance: - Real-Time Monitoring: Use real-time monitoring systems to track pressure changes and identify potential issues early. - Regular Maintenance: Schedule regular maintenance and inspections to ensure the pipeline remains in good condition and operates efficiently. 4. Communication: - Clear Communication: Maintain open communication with all users connected to the pipeline to inform them of potential pressure changes and their impact. - Planning: Work collaboratively with users to plan and implement measures that mitigate the impact of pressure changes on their operations.
