Marriott Hotels, is one of the three reasons why I studied hospitality at Swiss Hotel Management School. Thank you YTL Hotels for inviting me and The BrandLaureate Awards to your CNY Open House at JW Marriott KL. Bringing back some jiggly memories from my teenage years. I remembered when I was 14/15 years old, I stayed at a Marriot Hotel, I came across a book about the heart of service or heart of the house (don't quite remember but I remembered asking my mom earnestly if I could take it home 😅). I remembered reading the stories and was inspired by it. Professionalism, going the extra mile to make someone's stay/experience memorable; some of the stories gave me good goosebumps and placed a smile on my then, 14/15 years old face. Fast forward to now, even though I'm not in the Hotel industry, but the hospitality blood runs in me, in all that I pursue. (Thank you to all my past internships 😅 where I worked really really hard despite the intern pay check back then!) I guess these are some of the qualities that I inculcate from the years of studies in Swiss, internships and management training. Professionalism. Going the extra mile. Not the short cuts. Always Think of the flow, the mise en place (préparation). Think outside the box. Add value. No matter how tired or tough or long the day is, there's always fulfillment if I search within. I guess it speaks the same for a brand, a great brand stands out with the quality it exudes.

International Hospitality Leader | 15 Years' Experience | Service Excellence Advocate | Passionate About Making Every Customer Experience Unforgettable
It's easy to look sharp when you haven't done any work… Right? But when I look at myself in this selfie 📸 Which was taken 12 years ago by the way I can clearly see how tired I was on that day! Back then, I had just finished my MBA in Hotel Business Management And I was doing my internship as a Guest Experience Executive In one of the best hotels in Madrid. The reason why I wanted to share this with you today Is because we all (including myself) Tend to 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 show the best part of ourselves: ↳ The pictures where we look good ↳ Talk about how successful we are ↳ Our popularity and social attraction However, many times we are not aware of the truth Because those things are only one side of the coin… And, the reality is that behind all those: Beautiful pictures, successful stories, and popularity… There is so much more that people don't see! 💡 So, while I was browsing through my phone this morning… And saw myself in this image of myself After a very long day at work Not looking that fresh or sharp anymore… I still decided to go ahead and share it with all of you! Do you want to know why? 💭 Because, even if you won't be able to tell… On this day, I was feeling so 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 and 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 of myself! For having landed an internship in the hotel I wanted And in a department I really felt passionate about 🌟 So please, never feel shy to show both sides of you! Because for me… Those days and feelings were truly priceless. #hospitality #selfawareness #serviceexcellence #customerexperience

Let me tell you one thing for sure... your hard work and dedication will pay off in ways you can’t even imagine. During my time at training at Hyatt Regency I was constantly juggling internship new city hustles of everyday There were days when I doubted if all effort was worth it. One evening, while working a particularly busy shift at a hotel, → I encountered a guest who was visibly stressed from a long day of travel. → I took the extra time to ensure their check-in was smooth, and provided a list of local dining spots. The next morning, the guest found me and thanked me personally, saying my small gestures had made their stay unforgettable. ✨️🥹That interaction made all the long hours and hard work worth it. Here’s some valuable data you should consider: 📌 According to recent industry reports, 86% of customers are willing to pay more for a better experience. → Your attention to detail can directly impact a hotel’s success. Ps. What is your unforgettable memories of training days ? #hotelmanagement #hoteliers #linkedinforcreators

F&B Intern | MBA Candidate in Food & Wine | WFA Mentee Alumna | MSB Project Coordinator| YES Alumna and Scholars Recruiter
Its been a month since I started my internship at JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa and I thought it would be good to do a short reflection on what has been going on. The first couple of weeks are always a bit challenging, especially if you're new to the job but I found that three things increase your chances of learning and get acquainted faster: being proactive, learning from those who have some experience on the job and the old but very valuable, humility. This first month also reminded me of a quote from one of our leadership talks at the beginning of the year “undoing routines is hard but we need to put in the work to break the routines that stop us from achieving our full potential,” and although being challenging, this is key to growth. I've had to drastically change my routine which has made me embrace the simple things in life such as naps, walks around the neighborhood, sunrises and sunsets, quiet time at the park, etc. When it comes to the job, the interactions we have with guests are different everyday but for the most part, enjoyable. It's interesting how an exchange of smiles and greetings on the first day turns into an "I hope to see you on my next stay", "it was a please to meet you" or "I wish you the best in your endeavors" - this for me is the joy of hospitality, providing an instance for people to make a positive contribution in each others lives. The last month was a good start and I'm excited for what this month will bring. I hope to share more as I advance in this journey. PS: a quick video of the morning view on my way to work. #learning #growing #living

Quest for Impact - Strategy and Personal Development Insights for Consultants from My Journey | Senior Strategy Consultant at Roland Berger | MIT and ETHZ
My relationship with my supervisor changed overnight - from supportive to cold The reason was revealed only on the last day of my internship He'd heard a rumor that I 'hated my job and was just waiting to become a hotel director' This was a twisted half-truth Yes, I aspired to be a hotel director, but no, I never hated the job - In fact, I'd chosen it to learn the trade from the ground up My mistake: I openly spoke about my ambitions Some people hate ambition 🤯 15 years later, I make the same mistake again - I share my ambitions, even here on Linkedin Why? Because authenticity matters It's easy to talk about achievements post-success, but I believe in sharing the whole journey – the ups and downs, the aspirations, and yes, the setbacks 👉Be bold! If something is important to share, do it even against resistance So, what's your take on sharing ambitions? And how do you navigate potential misunderstandings or resistance? ------------------------------- If this added value to you, please share - Follow me to join me on my quest for impact #personaldevelopment #communication #ambition #authenticity

If I ever need to choose only one word to describe my MIT journey at Four Seasons, I will definitely go for the “privilege” one. This might sound too much; however, it is exactly what I could think of after being given so many opportunities to learn, to ask, to practise, to work and to act here at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An. I always regard myself as a “planner” who prefers organising everything on my own from the original plan A to the back-up plan Z, to waiting for what the universe is putting in order for me. This might be unnecessary since we all know that life is not working that way. But believe me, living with a plan makes you feel more proactive and really gives you the direction. My goal of becoming an MIT here was first started when I was learning about the company’s internship programs to prepare for my very 1st mandatory one at university. After experiencing myself and learning that this is exactly the right place, I started working harder on my personal image, paying more attention to my studies and seriously building up the required profile until I received a nod of approval: “You are potential, and we would like to give you this chance.” That was also when I knew my hard work would definitely pay off. I have currently completed 3/4 of my training progress as an MIT by being rotated in different service sectors to gain a deep understanding of their functions and responsibilities with the guidance from my leaders and seniors. Despite several shortcomings, I am pleased to see myself growing and becoming a better version that I always expect myself to be. There will still be a long way to go, but I appreciate all the opportunities given and want to thank myself for never thinking of giving up. And that is my journey with Four Seasons. What about yours? To become a part of us and explore your possibilities, apply today at: https://lnkd.in/g-F28e_F #WeAreFourSeasons #FSvoices #Hopsitality #Hiring #Opportunity

𝑫𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒖𝒙𝒖𝒓𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈? This is a hot topic whenever consulting gets discussed. One of the biggest perks mentioned is staying at 5-star hotels as part of the travel. And, this has some truth to it! Consulting companies do make their employees stay in luxurious hotels when they are travelling as part of a case or for colocating with their team. In fact, as part of our summer internship, they gave us a hotel room stay for the entire 2-month duration! (I assume that this alone would've cost as much as the stipend they would've paid us) And, as a side benefit, you can also accumulate reward points for the hotel chains :) Would you like to know something else about consulting or MBA?
