Hong Kong's Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS) is another example of innovation in immigration. Targeted, flexible and augmented immigration policy continues to be part of the solution for many advanced economies. I wrote an article in January 2023 - https://lnkd.in/g7DbrEf2. I said at the time " we need to re-ignite our innovative thinking and learn from the shift in the global market place " While our immigration policy design appears to be lagging global trends in the fierce competition for talent, i do remain optimistic that we will see this innovation in New Zealand to support the aspirations of businesses in high potential sectors. It has been positive to see more businesses outward looking, travelling to key markets and engaging with high value opportunities. New Zealand's pull factors will continue to be unique in a world where there are so many push factors playing out. Do you share the same sentiment ? #immigrationNZ #NZbusiness

【Issuance of card-type document to non-Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents by country to enhance convenience of immigration clearance】 We warmly welcome and are grateful to the country for announcing that non-Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents will soon be eligible for a card-type document to enhance convenience of clearance at control points of the Mainland. The new arrangement will further enable non-Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents in the business sector to travel to the Mainland smoothly and efficiently for various business activities, and promote cross-boundary exchanges of the business community. With the unique advantages under "one country, two systems", Hong Kong is an ideal destination for Mainland and overseas enterprises to set up or expand their businesses, as well as the most preferred gateway for international investors and businesses to enter the Mainland market. The new measure will further strengthen the unique advantages of Hong Kong as a bridge to the Mainland market, and complements the "northbound" multiple-entry visa initiative as announced in the 2023 Policy Address. Coupled with our world-class professional services and infrastructure facilities, more foreign capital and enterprises will be attracted to set up regional headquarters or offices in Hong Kong. The new measure is not limited to any nationality or industry, which fully highlights Hong Kong's unique status under 'one country, two systems' and greatly helps Hong Kong maintain its international character and diversity, thereby providing a significant incentive for companies and talent from around the world to settle in Hong Kong. We will certainly make good use of the measure to make even greater contributions to the development of the country. #HongKong #BrandHongKong #Asiasworldcity #HongKongPermanentResident #JakartaETO #HKETOJakarta

Legacy & Investment Planner | Multi Generational Advisor | Estate Planner Practitioner | Career/Opportunity Enabler
Just had an enlightening conversation with an immigration specialist, and I couldn't wait to share what I learned. It turns out, despite the global uncertainties, immigration to Singapore is still buzzing, especially from China. As we delved deeper into why Singapore remains a top choice for many, it became clear: political stability, a robust currency, tax-friendly policies, and its reputation as an international financial and business hub make it a magnet for those seeking a better future. But here's the twist: even after settling down and obtaining permanent residency or citizenship, most immigrants maintain ties and assets in their home countries. This sparked a discussion about the complexities that can arise when it comes to estate planning, especially for individuals with cross-border connections. Imagine the scenario: you've built a life in Singapore, but your heart and investments still have roots back home. Now, picture the complications that could arise if something were to happen unexpectedly. It's a situation that hits close to home for many immigrants, making estate planning more crucial than ever. So, if you find yourself in a similar boat—juggling between two worlds and wanting to secure your loved ones' future—I encourage you to take action. Consider reaching out to a legal or financial advisor who specializes in estate planning. They can help navigate the complexities of your situation and tailor a plan that safeguards your assets and ensures your wishes are honored, no matter where life takes you. Remember, the peace of mind that comes from knowing your affairs are in order is priceless. So why wait? Start planning today and pave the way for a secure and worry-free future for you and your loved ones. #EstatePlanning #WillPlanning #Immigration #PeaceofMind

🍁 As part of Canada's response to developments in Hong Kong, a pathway to permanent residence for in-Canada Hong Kong nationals was introduced on February 8, 2021. However, a surge in applications has led to prolonged processing times. ➡️ To address this, a new public policy is set to be introduced which will enable Hong Kong permanent residence pathway applicants to extend their status and secure a new open work permit in Canada while awaiting decisions on their permanent residence applications. 🗓️ From May 27, 2024, open work permits will be available to applicants ➡️ who have applied for permanent residence under Stream A (in-Canada graduates) or Stream B (Canadian work experience) of the temporary public policy for Hong Kong residents in Canada. ➡️ They must have held a work or study permit within the three years preceding their application for permanent residence. 🗓️ This public policy will remain effective for five years, allowing applicants to prolong their temporary status in Canada while processing their permanent residence applications. 🌟 Stay tuned for more Canadian immigration updates! #SupportForHongKong #CanadianImmigration #PathwayToPermanentResidence
