Nowadays, there's a rush to integrate AI. Still, many companies overlook a crucial point: data alone isn't the answer to all problems. While technical challenges exist, aligning AI with concrete business objectives is the real hurdle. Before investing in AI, companies must ask themselves: What is the true objective of developing AI for our organisation? The answer should be rooted in tangible benefits — driving profitability, enhancing efficiency, or achieving specific, clearly defined goals. Without this clarity, AI initiatives risk becoming fruitless endeavours. Many businesses adopt AI primarily for reputational purposes, fearing being left behind. However, this trend is becoming counterproductive. As ill-conceived AI projects increase, the market will recognise that not all AI implementations are valuable, and many are impractical or unnecessary. For AI projects to succeed, businesses need a clear, profit-driven objective. They must move beyond the hype and focus on meaningful applications with sustained value. This strategic approach ensures that AI initiatives aren't just for show but truly beneficial, driving long-term success and innovation. The ability to realize value from AI depends as much on strategic, organizational and cultural factors as it does on technology. Readiness for AI can be seen in stages, from organizations just getting started to those already realizing sustainable and measurable value from AI at scale. While efficiency and productivity will always dominate, organizations at the later stages focus on growth-oriented objectives at almost twice the levels of those in the early, exploring stage. In the earliest stage of readiness the primary focus is on AI strategy and experience, in learning about and ideating on potential AI use cases as the best way to build momentum. At the other end of the spectrum, where the groundwork is in place to deploy AI projects, enablement is the priority, and the vision, organization and culture become paramount. Great article on the question of how people are interacting with GenAI with specific examples provided.
Chief Data Analytics Officer ► Executive Leadership ★ Data, Analytics & AI Expert ★ Consulting or Full Time
It’s clear that the age of #AI is upon us. But the successful integration of AI relies just as heavily on strong tech and resilient digital frameworks as it does on the end user. Training, coaching, and support services are necessary to lead and connect team members to the use of AI and the newly available efficiencies. A poor carpenter blames his tools. Skilled and human-centred data leadership will create the strongest environment for AI integration. #dataleadership #GenAI #AIleadership

🚀 The Generative AI Boom means New Skills and a new kind of Leadership 🚀 The rise of generative AI, with tools like copilots and chatbots, is transforming enterprise productivity. These assistants automate mundane tasks, but if not carefully implemented, they can erode employees' decision-making skills, particularly in moral judgement. As executives, we must navigate this disruption with a dual focus on responsibility and growth. AI-driven nudges can lead to "techno-chauvinism," where human judgment is overshadowed by AI. To counteract this, we need to foster ethical boosting—encouraging critical reflection over mindless reaction. Yes, it hard. And yes, its necessary. Leadership in this AI-driven era requires a new set of core skills: 🔎 Curiosity: Stay informed about AI advancements and their implications. 💪 Nimbleness: Adapt quickly to technological changes. 💭 Thoughtfulness: Implement AI solutions that enhance, rather than replace, human judgment. Our goal is to ensure AI aids in growth while maintaining ethical integrity. Responsibility and disruption must coexist to drive sustainable progress. We can build a future where technology and ethical leadership go hand in hand. #AIEthics #BusinessEthics #Leadership #Innovation #CriticalThinking #Growth

𝐀𝐧 𝐀𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫 - 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 A recent article by McKinsey on boards and generative AI highlighted the fact that boards are increasingly discussing generative AI, but actually tend to focus more on the risks than on the business opportunities. This technology has the potential to affect every industry and every part of a company‘s operation. Boards need to put AI on the agenda and understand how this technology affects the business models and competitive landscape. By the way, did you know that one company in Asia has gone so far as to give AI a seat on the board and a vote? Crazy - don‘t you think? Would you trust and hire my AI generated AVATAR „HP“ as your future board member? Thanks for sharing your views in the comments 📩 #Verwaltungsrat, #AI, #governance, #board, #innovation, #leadership
