🎮📈 Did you know that users of The New York Times played the newspaper's games more than 8 billion times in the past year? 🔥 According to Axios, the star game was Wordle, played a whopping 4.8 billion times in total! Created by software engineer Josh Wardle, the game was released to the public in October 2021. Additionally, Connections, a word association game created by the NYT Games team, was played 2.3 billion times. The NYT Games app, which offers a variety of games such as crosswords, sudoku, and spelling bees, was downloaded 10 million times in 2023. The newspaper is currently preparing a redesign of the app. For those interested in subscribing to the Games app, an individual subscription costs $6 per month. Alternatively, the All Access bundle includes all of the newspaper's digital subscription products (News, Games, Cooking, Wirecutter, The Athletic, and Audio) and costs $17 per month.
