Good to know

I think it is time for Google to evangelise Angular more and more. The way the React ecosystem is getting complicated, I am not sure how true it is that the learning curve is low. Angular AFAICU, hasn't changed much for the end user (devs) but the pace at which react keeps changing is frustrating. The amount of changes they are doing to the framework and are planning to do makes applications less stable and increases maintenance cost. I am not sure what's the case with other frameworks. Is there life after Junior level? Recently at BrSTU I told students about what technologies are relevant in the frontend now (and again React Angular and Vue) and showed a slide there that I want to share with you. A little background. The difference between junior - middle - senior levels can be very arbitrary and determined either by years of experience or depth of knowledge or the number of tools used. We also all know that large companies have competency matrices, which are a kind of list of required skills for each level. But this does not change the situation that a middle person at Google may well be an architect at a startup or vice versa. Without pretending to be the ultimate truth, I see the path of development in front-end development as depicted in the illustration to the slide.

Stripe, the payment processing company, recently migrated their largest JavaScript codebase to TypeScript in a single pull request. This resulted in over 3.7 million lines of code being changed! They spoke to companies who had run similar migrations and read articles from Airtable and Zapier describing their experiences. These companies developed automated scripts to convert one language to another, ran them over their entire codebases, and merged the output as a single commit.
