Information including: - Passwords - PINs - Full Names - Email addresses - Home mailing addresses - Phone numbers - Date of births - Social security numbers This is much more sever incident in comparison to their previous data breach back in 2023 with only mere 9 million subscribers affected. Not to mention the incident back in 2019. We are starting to see a trend here. Although AT&T has invested in a "Robust Investigation" effort, it may be a little to late. If you are currently or ever have been a customer of AT&T you may want to perform the following steps to protect yourself: 1) Reset and change your any AT&T related passcodes/PINs 2) Never respond to an email/phone call from someone claiming to be AT&T. When in doubt log into your account online or call them directly. 3) Monitor ALL your accounts online and even consider doing a temporary credit freeze so no accounts can be open in your name 4) Use a different and Unique passwords for online accounts. - Use a password manager to store your passwords versus a browser #awareness #Sythiumtech #Creditprotection #Identityprotection #cyberincident https://lnkd.in/gyKPxUSV

From massive data breaches to now more sophisticated SIM swapping attacks, cybersecurity remains a top concern for telcos. Bringing in new third-party vendors is critical to ensuring the success of telcos B2B2X transition, but at the same time it poses a security risk by increasing the sphere of attack. Also, telcos cannot successfully look to monetize their vast reserves of customer and operational data, without incorporating security-first mindset.
AT&T customers, check your accounts. The company reset millions of passcodes this weekend after TechCrunch discovered they were included in a data dump that made its way online earlier this week. The leak doesn't impact all current account holders, but AT&T still estimates a significant 7.6 million had their information exposed. The data actually comes from a 2019 breach that a hacker claimed contained AT&T customer information, but had been unconfirmed until now. Get the exclusive rundown right here: https://tcrn.ch/3vpBeSS

"The cache includes the numbers called or texted by more than 100 million customers between May 1 and Oct. 31, 2022, as well as one day in January 2023. It contains the numbers themselves, the frequency and combined durations of the interactions, but not the customer names or the content of those communications, AT&T said." Since most numbers can be tied to real names, such records illuminate who is close to whom. That would provide a road map for criminals who could impersonate a friend or relative to trick a victim. Here is what AT&T customers should know about the hack: https://lnkd.in/eJFdAZfq
