I love the class that Andrew Ng showed here, but it does bring to light some serious questions. There are several ways to have bias in AI including the data itself, the algorithms used in training, and in the delivery of output. Google has obviously manipulated output. In this case, their ambition was noble, but none the less, the response produced by their AI Gemini system was partly humanly created. And the results were not was what was hoped for. We say there should always be some human element to an AI system, but does the human-element itself actually alter the system itself? #ai #geminiai

It's been a few months since I left the Googleplex. I'm starting to get the hang of the last decade of software I wasn't able to use (Slack, Zoom, and Notion). I like some of these tools more than others. Lol. After a decade of silence from within the Googleplex, I'm excited to re-engage with my network here on Linkedin (and elsewhere). Don't get me wrong—that experience truly did alter my career trajectory, and I'm a better engineering leader for it. I'm grateful for the people I met along the way who invested in the version of me before you. However, I found myself unable to share much of what I was going through and what it was like (some of you do, iykyk). Since joining Buf, I've had a BLAST talking with so many different enterprises and engineering teams about the highs and lows of working with #Protobuf and #gRPC. There's far more adoption and excitement here than I realized going in! Engaging and talking directly with the community about their ideas for the ecosystem and the challenges we're helping them overcome daily is exhilarating. I love being this close to the product and the customer on a daily basis. We've made a ton of progress with our platform, but it's clear to me that there's so much more we can (and will) do. We have some pretty incredible stuff to share with our community in the coming weeks. 🧨 🚀
