In honor of March Madness, I wanted to express exactly what the sport of basketball has done for not only my kids but also for me as a spectator. Sixteen years of soccer made me an athlete, but I had no idea what to expect when my kids laced up their shoes and stepped onto that court. The game of basketball took hold of me almost immediately; the pace, the excitement, and the absolutely mind-blowing athleticism! If my team isn't playing, I'll watch anyone who is. That is the kind of fan I am. So, what does this have to do with appraising? If you take your joy and compare it side by side with just about anything, you will find similarities, strategies, and eventually the sought-after triumph. My role is to make our team successful, to train them properly, have a concrete game plan, and, as much as possible, come away with a win. And in the event that victory is not attainable, we watch and review life's film and try again!

Welcome to March Madness, the greatest sporting event around. I look forward to these few short weeks of high-intensity, buzzer-beating and upset-laden basketball every year. And it's not just because I like basketball. March Madness also brings: 👡 At least one Cinderella story every year. A team (or teams) that is less known going on a run, deep into the tournament and capturing the hearts of the nation. 💪 Overcoming odds and adversity. Similar to the above, individuals and teams rising to the occasion and displaying incredible feats of accomplishment. 💫 Dreams coming true. Individuals and teams making it to the tournament and playing in this greatest of sporting events. Individuals and teams winning ❤️ Embracing the negative and moving forward. The flip-side of the above. There's only one winner and 62 'losers'. Many hopes and dreams are unmet. You see the utter disappointment and grief when this happens. You also see team members and coaches coming alongside of one another in love and encouragement. You see people holding their chins up and being proud of their accomplishments, even if they don't 'win it all'. 🙌 Friendly competition. Who doesn't love a good March Madness bracket challenge? Even if you don't pay attention throughout the year, it's fun to join in with some friends, family members or colleagues for a little friendly competition to see whose bracket will come out on top. And yes, a lot of high-quality, high-energy and exciting basketball. But it's never just about the basketball. What do you love about March Madness (or if something else if your jam, what is it and why?) #marchmadness #cinderellastories #overcomeadversity #movingforward

Huge value to implement into your life. We can create a life we want by avoiding our worries. However, creating and being aware of these worries helps avoid them.
A little food for thought!📝 About 5 years ago, I took this photo outside a gym I was working out at in Arizona! This quote has stuck with me ever since and been a backbone to a lot of my success on and off the basketball court.🏀 Don’t overthink it, just do!

So, its March Madness. Admittedly, I am not a fan of Basketball, but follow along during March Madness because I love competition, and love to see stories of small programs breaking through to take down the big guys. With the NIL now becoming a major part of recruiting, how do small schools, without the income generated by big time football, compete? How do schools like St. Peter's or Gonzaga attract talent without access to those deep pockets? Look at the top NIL Collectives, then look at the $ generated by Football attendance versus Basketball attendance. Have we seen the impending end of the Cinderella story?
