It is such a simple change/idea/concept/philosophy, but yet, people (and companies) don't seem willing or able to adopt it. Why? I want to dedicate 2024 (and onwards) to understanding, promoting, working towards and advocating for more circularity. However, it is the basis and trigger for innovation and higher competitiveness. 🎯 The change in regulation made KOROZO GROUP review the legislative landscape and start collecting to meet upcoming reporting needs. But they did not stop there. They set targets to improve and the reporting process unleashed new ideas on improving circularity. 🔢 In this episode, Patrick Peter, Director at phiyond by adelphi, shares how they used the Circular Transition Indicators to measure corporate circularity at Korozo. This open-source indicator framework has been developed by the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development and is supplemented by a measurement tool provided by Circular IQ. 🌎 What is the definition of sustainability? And is sustainability "absolute"? Or does sustainability arise in comparison to non-sustainable options? And then there's circularity; what about that? We asked Joost Walterbos for the answers. Joost: “Sustainability is the holistic, or overarching concept. The umbrella term, where it's about behaving in a way that the world remains a livable place for others. And then it’s about others in different countries, and in different generations. That's the concept of sustainability. ♻️ And the circular economy is one of the solutions, or one of the possible routes, that contribute to a more sustainable existence. The circular economy is a path towards sustainability.
