Don’t solve the problem, fix the system. If you want to wake up on time, don’t set up a loud alarm early in the morning. Get rid of your phone at night, sleep early, and darken your room. Systems are long-lasting, widespread, and interconnected. We can push back on them by just solving the visible problem, but over time, the system usually comes out ahead. Take the example of employee turnover in an organisation. Instead of simply addressing the symptoms—like hiring more recruiters to fill vacancies or offering higher salaries to retain staff—leaders should look at the underlying system. What are the root causes of high turnover? Are employees leaving due to a lack of career growth opportunities, poor management practices, or an unhealthy work-life balance? Through research, these deeper issues can be uncovered and through applied behavioural science the right interventions can be made to bring in change. Once we see the underlying system to a visible problem, we can change it. #Organisations #Systems #DiveDeeper

As Mental Health May is nearing the end of the month, I thought this was interesting data: New GOSHRM-The Greater Orlando Society for Human Resource Management research finds that 44 percent of surveyed U.S. employees feel burned out at work, with over half saying they feel “used up” at the end of the day. ➡ Employers bear the brunt of turnover and lower productivity when employees are drained by their work and as a business owner or leader, you simply can't afford to spend your time with onboarding & filling roles. ➡ Employees who say they are burned out are nearly three times more likely to be actively searching for another job, compared to workers who do not report burnout. ➡ Workers who feel burned out from their work are significantly less likely to go above and beyond what is expected of them at work (yet, that's what leadership wants!) That's where Empower Edge Solutions Inc comes in...I can help your company get the right people in the right roles and then work with your leadership teams for optimum development. Our Harrison Assessments Int'l reports will provide data like nothing you've experienced before to get to the core of identifying gaps in performance and define where development is needed.
