🎉 We have some news to share 📣 We were contacted by a company. Great guy named Nathan. They are interested in volunteering to help us and they're also doing a two day employee drive to raise some funds 💰with an employer match behind it ❤️ The volunteer day will be at their physical site. They will assembly cat towers, stairs, cat houses, etc. 🐈 I've also really wanted more art inside the condos & cottage, so we brainstormed - the employees have the opportunity to paint some canvases for us!! 🎨🖌 I can hear Lisa now- "paint me like a pretty French girl" This will all happen in mid June which is only a little ways away. We have created a "special, stand alone" wishlist where I'm hoping some of our supporters will help us. Every item purchased on the special wishlist is set to ship to......drum roll please 🥁..... Google 💥 Ideally we'd love to have wishlist items to them by the end of May so they can see what they're working with. After the event, delivery will be coordinated. 🚚 The Google data center about an hour out from us. My new friend Nathan follows and supports The Knot Burger Pub, as well as our page, saw the support exchange between us and reached out. Ripple effect. Karma. Sending good stuff into the universe. For New Years, I have committed to three things: 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤: In 2023 I was allowed to volunteer with various @AWS-sponsored programs to help provide supplies for disadvantaged men, women, and children. This year, I am committing to volunteering outside AWS to help clean up my local community and beaches. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬: From discussions I have had with Amy Elliott-Villegas before the New Year's End, I have made it a goal to fundraise and donate $5,000 to the United Methodist Children's Home. As an early contribution, I will commit the first $1,000 toward this goal. 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞: I am committed to maintaining a strict peleo diet during New Year's. No processed carbs, no soda, no junk food. My diet will consist of whole foods, meat, nuts & berries, and water.

When I joined Amazon I was really pleased to learn about our Give Back goals as an organization, and have been impressed that Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services made a a great impact in the past years during Global Month of Volunteering with 1000+ builders serving our communities across the globe. This year I decided to be part of the change together with Raluca Idor ☁ and Lucile Le Boucher and support packing school bags for underserved kids in Berlin today as volunteer. Did you know that one in five children in Germany was affected by poverty in 2022 (according to a report by the “Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband”)? In total, 14.2 million people in Germany were poor in 2022. For many of those families, it is an enormous financial challenge to get their children set up for school, as they have to spend a lot of money on the required materials. That’s why, the Amazon Community Impact Team seizes the opportunity of Amazon’s Global Month of Volunteering (GMV) to support children in regions all over Germany, providing them with backpacks filled with writing utensils, lunch boxes and anything they need for school. In Berlin, we are going to donate about 2.000 school bags in co-operation with Berliner Tafel e.V.,  Die ARCHE Kinderstiftung and Save the Children International. Across Germany, Amazonians will pack a total of over 20.000 school bags. "Not sure a tech thing is going to connect people in the nonprofit space." Our dear friend and supporter Evan Wildstein said that in our first Hive interview (when we were workshopping this idea). Now that The Nonprofit Hive is live we had to have him back to talk about his experiences to date! Our founder takeaways: 1. Hive Chats are giving a voice to ALL nonprofiteers (and that is desperately needed in this space.) 2. Our platform is simple and easy to use (even for the non-techies ❤️ ) 3. Talking about your mission with others is going to JAZZ your nonprofit work up (who doesn't love some mid-week inspiration?) Our Hive is growing because the nonprofit industry needs connection.
