Alena Moskaeva’s Post

I spent two amazing days at the C3 Dev Festival organized by GitNation 🫶🏻  It was my first time attending such a large event, filled with lots of speakers, engaging topics, and activities. I can't cover everything I experienced because it would make for a super long post, but I'll highlight some personalities and talks that really resonated with me. First of all, Alla Pavlova 艾菈's workshop on how to improve your tech CV was incredibly useful. I even got the chance to receive feedback on my CV from Alla herself. It was exciting and a bit scary to see my CV on a big screen for everyone to see, but it was 100% worth it. I took extensive notes during the workshop and have already started updating my CV. A huge thanks to John Romero for his talk about AI in games. I still giggle when I remember the screenshots of his dialogue with AI about a completely new and promising game idea😄 I took lots of photos during Una Kravets's talk because I loved her ideas about using more CSS and less JavaScript for dynamic elements on the web. I can't wait to try out almost everything she demonstrated. Anna J McDougall's speech on promotion was full of insights, not just about advancing your career. I even want to share this quote because it's simple but meaningful: “You are the only person who lives with you for your entire life. Speak to yourself like the roommate you are.” Lindsey Simon's session on conducting interviews in the age of AI tools was fascinating. He guided us through the history of tech interviews, shared thoughts on Leetcode in present time, and showed examples of how AI can solve interview questions that normally take 40 minutes in just 2 minutes. I was thrilled. And, of course, we can’t ignore the tapir in the room anymore (look at the photo if you weren’t at the conference) 😉 Almost forgot to mention that the second day kicked off with The Smartphone Orchestra, which was such a cool interactive experience. Everyone in the audience was engaged (you couldn't fake it because your phone screen would change color), and it was fun to be part of the musical performance🎶 I have to stop now because this is already a long read, but believe me, there were many more amazing speakers with sharp topics! In conclusion, my first experience at such an event was fantastic. I truly feel like I got a lot from it! Huge shoutout to my mates Maksim Shevchenko, Anton Chaplygin, Tanja Makarova who were there with me, making the experience even more memorable. Looking forward to more events like this in the future⭐️
