🚀 Embarking on a transformative journey that surmounts challenges to create a lasting impact! 🌱
Rarely do we encounter opportunities to make a difference that resonates through generations. The road is rugged, the hurdles formidable, yet the taste of success is sweet, transforming lives along the way. 🌈
We've touched the lives of 25 remarkable Indigenous individuals, carving a path for them to acquire life skills, job-ready expertise, and, most importantly, confidence and dignity. It's a progression from navigating struggles to embracing the harmonious rhythm of a healthy life—mentally, emotionally, and physically. 💪
By fostering a nurturing space, a supportive environment, and cultural safety, we've witnessed astounding growth and flourishing. Each success story transcends mere employment; it symbolizes a monumental moment of restoring dignity, self-respect, and a deep sense of belonging. These transformations resonate not only within individuals but also send ripples through families and communities. 🌺
The ATAL program signifies just the beginning—a substantial drop in the ocean generating ripples of goodness across our community. The seeds of hope we've sown will evolve into a thriving ecosystem, nurturing the community for years to come. 🌍
Today, I humbly pay my respects to their Elders, both past and present. The program's results and impact stand as a testament to the Reconciliation Act and the embodiment of everyday respect. Together, we're crafting a narrative of positive change—one that will endure for generations.
Feeling truly blessed to have played a part in this incredible journey. 🙏✨

Rio Tinto has established the Aboriginal Training and Liaison (ATAL) program through a co-design process with the Traditional Owner groups in the Pilbara, WA.
The work-ready program is focused on empowering participants to develop skills for ongoing employment in different jobs and industries across the Pilbara.
Jill Harris, ATAL Program Lead said, “We do all the things that necessary, so they can make the transition into Rio Tinto, and find out more about the types of roles that exist across the business. The difference with this programme is that it’s not just about employment with Rio Tinto. It’s about employment, full stop. For our participants to achieve success, security, their dreams and what they want for their families is important to us.”
Out of the 14 participants who graduated from the program this year, 13 will be joining Rio Tinto in apprenticeship and trainee roles.
