So what's more challenging than a difficult person? A difficult person who can fire you. You might have heard the saying that people don't really leave jobs, they leave managers. A boss who behaves badly can negatively impact your entire well-being at work. But there are strategies you can use to confront and change the dynamic between you. Let's talk about a few of the difficult behaviors that I've seen from bosses, and what to do if you're experiencing them. One classic frustration I hear about is people whose bosses don't show appreciation, give validation, or provide any recognition. Firstly, I want to share that there's nothing wrong with wanting appreciation or recognition. We all want to feel like the work we're doing is making a difference. But many bosses either forget to pause and give positive feedback, or they don't understand how important it is to keep people motivated.
