All right. So you're ready to confront the difficult behavior you've been experiencing. To set yourself up for the best possible chance of success, remember these tips. Firstly, ask yourself, are you the right person to address the problem? Consider involving someone with closer ties, authority, or HR expertise. Second, make sure you're in the right mindset. If you're too emotionally activated, you risk an unproductive confrontation. Approaching difficult conversations from an attacking or critical stance rarely goes well. Think about it. When someone puts you on the defensive, are you in the right mindset to take in feedback? More often than not, it'll just make you dig your heels in deeper.
