I worked with a client whose manager was going through a really difficult family crisis, and as a result, this manager was unresponsive to my client's emails and messages. They were also unfocused on their work, and they even asked my client for all kinds of advice that my client was really not in a position to give. Let's talk about another Level 2 behavior, which is behavior that results from mental health struggles. When coworkers or even managers grapple with mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, or grief, it can show up as concerning workplace behaviors. Things like missed deadlines, oversharing, not showing up for work, or seeming less approachable. With this category of behavior, it's important to come from a place of empathy. Offer compassion and support, but also set necessary boundaries. Remember that having genuine compassion for someone does not mean it's your responsibility to take on or fix their struggles. Instead, ask how you can realistically assist them.…
