Virtual Switch features: Host level rollback

Virtual Switch features: Host level rollback

- [Rick] In this video, we'll learn about host networking rollback and how it can be used to help us recover from a configuration change that isolates an ESXI host from vCenter. So host networking rollbacks occur when a configuration change is made that breaks the connection between the ESXI host and vCenter. Every network change that disconnects a host also triggers a rollback, and the change that caused the problem is automatically undone and the configuration automatically reverts back. So for example, let's imagine that an administrator is reconfiguring ESXI hosts, and one of the things that they're going to reconfigure is the management VMkernel port. Well, that's the only way that vCenter can communicate with an ESXI host. vCenter and the ESXI host communicate through this management VMkernel port, and maybe I change the IP address to an IP address that doesn't work on the appropriate VLAN. And now we've broken the connectivity between the management VMkernel port and vCenter…
