- [Rick] In this video, I'll demonstrate how to upgrade an ESXi 7 host to ESXi 8. And I'm going to perform an interactive upgrade of this ESXi host. So here you can see I have an ESXi host that's running ESXi version 7. I'm just going to hit F12 here. I'm going to log in. And I am going to shut down this ESXi host. And I'm going to forcefully terminate any running VMs, even though there are no virtual machines running on this particular host. But what I want to do is shut the host down and I'm going to boot it up from the ESXi 8 installation media. So I'll hit F2 and allow this host to finish shutting down. So now my ESXi host is all done shutting down. And this particular host is actually a virtual machine running on a VMware workstation. So what I need to do now is present the boot media to this ESXi host. I need to present the installation media for ESXi version 8. So I'm just going to go to my host and I'm going to go to settings here. And what I'm essentially doing is the virtual…
