Reasoning and logic

- Problem-solving involves identifying the best solution and the best path to get to it. Decision-making involves selecting the best or optimal choice from a set of options. When faced with a problem, there are many different approaches people may take, some better or more effective than others. If someone does not recognize a problem or does not understand how they might complete a task, they may start with a trial and error method. They guess what to do, try a range of completely different options just to see what happens. If you observe what appears to be guessing and random interactions with a product, it may mean that they do not know what they can or should do. So we need to conduct research to understand why they are uncertain and what might be done to design a more helpful product.
