- [Instructor] Design patterns are recurring, re-usable, optimal solutions to common design problems. We have design patterns for: Structure, such as the organization of product catalogs on shopping sites. Flow, such as the standard sequence of actions at ATMs regardless of the bank, or the steps taken to write and send an email. And to interface, the components of an interface, such as buttons, selectors, dialogues, and form fields are what we usually think of as design patterns, because we frequently use the same elements across different products. Good design patterns are familiar, recognizable, and easy to apply correctly. Optimal, effective, and efficient ways to interact and complete a task. Relevant in the context and to the goals.
