- [Instructor] Think about it, you might envision a design project without text, without texture, or graphic elements but try and envision a design project without color. Color schemes are sometimes developed at the beginning stages of a design process, but in more evolved projects, they're extracted from existing designs and handed off to the designers to use in new projects. Let's take a quick look to appreciate how central color is in branding. Online shoppers will connect these red and white colors with Target and the blue and white with Walmart, even if they don't see Target or Walmart in their screen. I love to use school colors as a great way to bring to life how central a color scheme is to an institution's identity. UCLA on the left and USC on the right provide color sets for designers as part of their respective color guides. Note that the guides for each school include hexadecimal values. I'll return to that…
