Reading efficiently

- [Voiceover] So one of my students' least favorite parts of the verbal reasoning sections are the long reading passages. These passages can be difficult to read, because they often have a more complex structure than short passages, and because there's just more information to process. So in this video, I'll talk about some ideas regarding reading more efficiently. So just a couple of factors in terms of how easy a long passage will be for you to read depends on your reading strength, your familiarity with the passage's subject matter, and even your energy level. So again, read about all different topics when you do your daily reading, so that you increase the chances you'll be familiar with the subject matter of GRE passages. Then another idea I'll give you is that worrying about getting every single detail, or "reading scared" as I like to call it can backfire, since your short term memory can get clogged with too much information.
