Set a default format for a field

- [Instructor] Some fields, especially those that contain numbers, are easier to read when you apply formatting. In this movie, I will show you how to save time by assigning a default format to a field. My sample file is 09 03 default format, and you can find it in the chapter nine folder of the exercise Files collection. I have summarized category sales by region, and as you can see, I have just a base number here, but in fact, sales is a currency value, in this case in US dollars, so I can apply a currency format by default to that order total field. I'll start by going over to the navigation pane and I will right click the order total measures pill so I'll right click there. Then I'll point to default properties and click number format. From there, I have a number of formats that I can select. I won't worry about customization, so I will just click currency standard and I am in the US so I'll keep that as my locale,…
