Filter data using parameters
- [Instructor] When you define a filter, Tableau limits the visualization summary to the values you want. You can always edit a filter to change the values it shows, but it's handy to use a visible control to make those changes. If you create a top filter, for example, you can use a parameter to identify how many values to display. In this movie, I will show you how to create a changeable filter using a parameter. My sample file is 06_08_Parameter, and you can find it in the Chapter06 folder of the Exercise Files collection. In this workbook, I have Orders by Product, and you see that they're listed here by product name. Let's say that I want to create a parameter control that will show between 1 and 10 of my most popular products by order total.
