Define a highlight action
- When you create a dashboard, you give yourself quick access to overviews of your data. You'll probably care most about a subset of that data at any given time, so Tableau lets you highlight data according to rules that you define. In this movie, I will show you how to define an action so you can apply a highlight quickly. My sample file is 12_06_Highlight, and you can find it in the Chapter 12 folder of the Exercise Files collection. In this workbook, I have a dashboard that focuses on job title. So you can see here that I have sales by region that are broken down by employee job title, then I have total in another text table, and then I have sales by category, and again, it's broken down by job title, so Sales Associate, Sales Associate 1, and the other titles used in the company.
