- [Instructor] A lot of business data follows patterns, both in the sense that the data reflects daily, monthly, or quarterly trends or that it contains similar values for related items. For example, a product name for a specific type of exercise equipment might include the word ball. In this movie, I will show you how to limit your displayed values that follow a specific pattern. In this case, in a product name. My sample file is 06_04_Wildcard and you can find it in the chapter six folder of the exercise files collection. This workbook has a text table that shows the count of sales by product. If I want to create a filter, I can go up to the product name field. In this case, it's on the row shelf. Click its down arrow, and then click Filter. And I'll drag filter by product name over to the right. The second tab is called Wildcard, so I'll click there. And what a wildcard is is a text value that can occur within a cell.…
