Create a nested sort
- [Instructor] Sorting data using a value in a single field, such as an order tracking number, is appropriate in many cases. However, you might also want to sort based on values in a lower level than the top level of a visualization. In this movie, I will demonstrate a case where that type of sort would be useful. My sample file is 06_02_NestedSort, and you can find it in the chapter 6 folder of the exercise files collection. In this workbook, I have a single sheet. and on it, I have sales broken down by sales region, which you can see is sorted in descending alphabetical order, and then by product category, which is in alphabetical order. And then I have the sum of the order totals for each of those categories within each of the sales region in the data area. So what this means is that the values here in the data area are mixed, so I don't have any sense without looking at each value individually as what the lowest…
