Annotate a visualization

- [Instructor] Charts are terrific at summarizing data visually, but there will be times when you want to add a comment or annotation. In this movie, I will show you how to add an annotation to a Tableau visualization. My sample file is "10 01 Annotation," and you can find it in the chapter 10 folder of the exercise files collection. This workbook contains a single worksheet, and here I have a column or vertical bar chart that indicates sales for each region. One thing that I note is that the Northwest and the North Central West regions have relatively low sales. In fact, they're the two lowest. To point that out, and to ask questions about why we're not doing better there, I could add an annotation. So I will right click any blank spot on the vis, point to "annotate," and then click "area." That opens the "edit annotation" dialogue box, and here I can make the usual changes to the appearance of the text, so I can…
