Let's discuss Nudge theory. It's one of my favorite UX theories because it allows us to influence users towards eco-friendly behavior. Nudge theory is simple to understand. It's all about tweaking how choices are shown to users in the interface. These little adjustments can have a big impact on what choices users make, often without them even noticing it. And the best part, it doesn't limit their freedom to choose. Do you remember the default energy saving settings on your smartphone? How about those pre-selected options for greener shipping in online stores? These examples perfectly illustrate the principles of Nudge theory. Choice order also plays a big role in nudging users towards sustainability. As a designer, you can arrange options in your user interface in a way that makes eco-friendly choices stand out.
