But this is not an ideal world. There are a set of characteristics that people need to display to engage in intelligent disobedience. So let's talk about those characteristics. First is driven to contribute. A person that engages intelligent disobedience is always looking for that better outcome or the better way to get to that outcome. Next, short and longterm business outcome focus. They have a tendency to understand what happens in the short-term and what happens in the longterm from an active intelligent disobedience. So they can weigh those options before deciding whether they're going to act. Next is a healthy assessment of change, and the degree of change the organization can take.
