From the course: Sketch Essential Training: The Basics

What do you need to know?

- [Instructor] There are a few things that you need to know before you start the "Sketch Essential" training course. At the end of this video, you'll have an idea of what will not be included in the course, as well as things that you need to know in advance. This course is not going to go into how to do design or basic design techniques and methodology. It won't go into deep dives on any of the functionality, for example, vectors of gradients. We also won't be going into how to log in or set up any third-party tools that are referenced. You have to have a basic knowledge of design. Perhaps you've worked in another tool or you're starting out in your design career and Sketch will be the first tool you want to use to apply your learning. You'll need download the latest version of Sketch and install it. We'll explore all of the introductory functionality in Sketch so that you know how to use the tool, but we won't be learning design disciplines. There are a number of resources that are available to you. For example, the LinkedIn course, "UX Design Techniques: Overview", "UX Foundations: Style Guides and Design Systems", "User Experience, UX, for Non-Designers".
