Using a chroma key filter with green screen footage
- [Instructor] There is one more video filter that literally stands alone and that's the chroma key filter and it's used for compositing green screen footage with other content. If you're following along, I'm in the chroma key project where I have a short clip of footage that was shot in front of my green screen. Now the process of identifying a specific color or a chroma and then removing that color or perhaps more accurately, rendering those pixels transparent is called pulling a chroma key or pulling a key for short. Now the specific color that you use as your background doesn't really matter as long as the color is fairly uniform in intensity and generally doesn't appear in other parts of your clip that you wanna keep. Now the bright green color that has become commonly called chroma green is used for two main reasons. First, this intense bright green is not commonly found in most settings or clothing. And second, modern digital cameras are especially sensitive to the green color…
