Use props and visual aids

- How can you effectively use a prop or visual aid in your presentation? In general, there are three great reasons why you might want to use a prop. The number one reason is demonstration. For most demos, showing is far more effective than telling. If I am going to show you how to use a microphone or any other object, it makes sense for me to actually show you the object that I'm demonstrating. If I don't have the object handy, I might also use a stand-in prop. Stand-in props include models, photos, or videos of the object you're demonstrating. The second reason you might want to use a prop is to provide a concrete metaphor for an abstract concept. If you want to talk about market share at your company, you might want to show your audience a pie chart.
